The most common type in use today is the LP Gas/Propane forklift used almost exclusively for indoor warehouse operations. The major components of a forklift truck propane system include:
Propane produces 100% clean burning since it is not mixed with air as in gasoline but burned with pure oxygen from an onboard tank of compressed air. The new propane forklifts operate at a higher RPM than diesel and can deliver up to 20% more power and lift capacity than a diesel forklift.
A new propane forklift may cost 2-3 thousand dollars more than a similar diesel, but the savings on maintenance and fuel costs make up for the difference quickly.

The capacity of a forklift is determined by two factors: weight and length. Lifting 5,000 lbs to 48″ forks will allow you to move 24 inches on either end.
But going out 60″, like in our example above with 30″, drops this amount down close to 4,000 pounds.
A forklift capable of carrying 5,000 lbs might weigh somewhere in the area of 9,000 lb. This means it will balance itself when loaded with even more weight.
The machine is dual fuel – GAS & LP. Please read instructions for the forklift, study, and watch videos before operating a forklift. It is recommended to be driven by a licensed driver to void any fatalities or injuries.
Please note: Renter takes full responsibility for any damage to the machine or individual – we DO NOT carry insurance for the renter.
